1. If you are a little silent…

    Comment

Listen to your being. It is continuously giving you hints; it is a still, small voice. It does not shout at you, that is true. And if you are a little silent you will start feeling your way. Be the person you are. Never try to be another, and you will become mature. Maturity is accepting the responsibility of being oneself, whatsoever the cost. Risking all to be oneself, that’s what maturity is all about. ~Osho

  2. Parrot and dog love noodles

    Comment

To survive, every bird must eat at least half its own weight in food each day. A bird’s heart beats 400 times per minute while they are resting. Larger parrots such as the macaws and cockatoos live more than 75 years. Source: Veterinary Pet Insurance

  3. Happiness and Sadness…

    Comment

Sadness gives depth. Happiness gives height. Sadness gives roots. Happiness gives branches. Happiness is like a tree going into the sky, and sadness is like the roots going down into the womb of the earth. Both are needed, and the higher a tree goes, the deeper it goes, simultaneously. The bigger the tree, the bigger will be its roots. In fact, it is always in proportion. That’s its balance. ~Osho

  4. Don’t be afraid…

    Comment

Experience life in all possible ways —
    good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light,
    summer-winter. Experience all the dualities.
Don’t be afraid of experience, because
the more experience you have, the more
    mature you become. ~Osho

  5. The winds long to play with your hair

    1

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

After awhile you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you learn that love doesn’t mean possession and company doesn’t mean security. And you begin to learn that presents aren’t promises and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child. And you learn to build your roads today, because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans, and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After awhile you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much so you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure, that you really are strong, and you really do have worth. ~Ritu Ghatourey

  6. When one has become a forgiving person

    Comment

The act of forgiveness is the act of returning to present time.
And that’s why when one has become a forgiving person,
and has managed to let go of the past,
what they’ve really done is they’ve shifted their relationship with time.

If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light.
Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness,
selfishness, and fears. ~ Glenn Clark

    Comment

An adult cat can run about 12 miles per hour, and can sprint at nearly thirty miles per hour. A cat’s tongue is scratchy because it’s lined with papillae—tiny elevated backwards hooks that help to hold prey in place. Source: Veterinary Pet Insurance

  9. Have faith…

    Comment

You may look in the mirror and feel like you are not as good but someone on this Earth is waiting for someone just like you to be their soul mate. All you have to do is have faith and believe. ~Unknown

Me & Grandma

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
