1. My Country is not that Beautiful

    508

If you like to fight, please fight for the poor children

    The suffering of Khmer Children,
is never the suffering of the
    Cambodian Prime Minister…

Removing this corrupted Prime Minister from the seat during the upcoming election in July, is the only solution to fix the problems in Cambodia. But we need fair elections for this dream to come true.

  2. My New Cousin

    87

First time meeting my new cousin.
She just arrived here, from Cambodia.
    We never met before,
but feels like she's going to be
    my new best friend.
    She's already invited me
    to sleep over. Thanks.
Too bad, we live in two
    different states.

She wants to be in the middle, next to me, but the boy would not allow her to. So sad…

I consider myself a student of many religions.
The more I learn, the more questions I have.
For me, the spiritual quest will be
    a life-long work in progress.

  4. Nature & Its Beauty

    53

beauty is nature in all it's glory,
preaching us a lot of story.

    fall, winter, summer & spring,
the site of the nature is a beautiful thing.

as the sun sets my heart did rise,
the stars shined within the skies.

my soul glowed as the wind stirred,
my breath caught at a sound of a bear.

little animals moving through in night,
    climbing, slithering, roaring in flight.

darkness en wrapped me with a comforting touch,
oh i love this nature so much.

filled with happiness & desperate love,
nature has adorn this beautiful earth.

helping us as a gift of god,
nature provided us love of all sort.

for all it's goodness we have altered it by & by,
so much so that the nature would cry.

it's time for us to pay nature's dew,
not for me & not for you.

just do your bit to regain the beauty of nature,
so let us save this huge creature…!

  5. You Can Never Be Too Careful

    58

You can never be too careful,
    that's what I always say,
and so I wear a hat, or two,
in case my hair turns gray.
I've thirteen tires on my car,
in case I get a flat.
I wear my pants size fifty-three,
in case I grow too fat.
You can never be too careful,
    I'm sure you'll find it's true.
I see the doctor every day,
in case I catch the flu.
    I carry twenty handkerchiefs,
in case I have to sneeze,
    and forty seven bandages,
in case I skin my knees.
You can never be too careful,
so if I take a walk,
    I tiptoe everywhere I go
    and whisper when I talk.
I hide my money in a box,
and lock it up inside Fort Knox.
My house is made of bricks and rocks.
The front door has a hundred locks.
But now I have a problem, see,
I'm locked inside without the key.
I've lost it and I can't get free.
I hid it much too carefully!

  6. Keep On Smiling

    72

If at times you feel you want to cry.
And life seems such a trial.
Above the clouds there’s a bright blue sky
So make your tears a smile.

As you travel on life’s way
With its many ups and downs
Remember it’s quite true to say
One smile is worth a dozen frowns.

    Among the worlds expensive things
    A smile is very cheap
And when you give a smile away,
You get one back to keep.

Happiness comes at times to all
    But sadness comes unbidden
And sometimes a few tears must fall
    Among the laughter hidden.

So when friends have sadness on their face
    And troubles round them piled
The world will seem a better place
    And all because you smiled.

  7. My Soul is Yellow Today

    52

    People care too much.
    How their hair looks
    or their clothes.
They don’t care about what matters
    The soul
The soul is what truly matters
that thing that is deep inside.
    The soul is always fashionable
no matter what the season is.
The soul is something that changes color a million times
from when you are born to when you die.
    My soul is yellow today
    because I’m happy inside.
On Thursday my soul was green
    for I envied another girl.
The soul is by far the best accessory you can have.
And that’s what they should write in the magazines.

  8. Sometimes I come home and cry

    61

I've been bullied and it makes me mad.
Sometimes I come home and cry to my mom and dad.
I think school is a great place
but not when someone makes fun of me to my face.
I try to be nice to everyone I know
even when I get made fun of just for show.
Being bullied will never stop me.
To be the best person I can be.
I know that one day everyone will finally see
how it truly feels to be me.
It can make you angry, sad and even bad,
But at the end of the day it makes me glad
to know that I am a stronger person because of it even though it makes me mad.

Shantidevas’ Bodhisattva vows

My reflection

Should anyone wish to ridicule me and make me an object of jest and scorn why should I possibly care if I have dedicated myself to others?

Let them do as they wish with me so long as it does not harm them. May no one who encounters me ever have an insignificant contact.

Regardless whether those whom I meet respond towards me with anger or faith, may the mere fact of our meeting contribute to the fulfilment of their wishes.

May the slander, harm and all forms of abuse that anyone should direct towards me act as a cause of their enlightenment.

As a solid rock is not shaken by the wind, so the wise are not shaken by blame and praise. As a deep lake is clear and calm, so the wise become tranquil after they listened to the truth…

Good people walk on regardless of what happens to them. Good people do not babble on about their desires. Whether touched by happiness or by sorrow, the wise never appear elated or depressed. ~The Dhammapada

Hermit of Tbeng Mountain

Sachjang Phnom Tbeng សច្ចំ ភ្នំត្បែង is a very long and interesting story written by Mr. Chhea Sokoan, read by Jendhamuni Sos. You can click on the links below to listen. Part 1 | Part 2

Beauty in nature

A beautiful object has no intrinsic quality that is good for the mind, nor an ugly object any intrinsic power to harm it. Beautiful and ugly are just projections of the mind. The ability to cause happiness or suffering is not a property of the outer object itself. For example, the sight of a particular individual can cause happiness to one person and suffering to another. It is the mind that attributes such qualities to the perceived object. — Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

Nature is loved by what is best in us. The sky, the mountain, the tree, the animal, give us a delight in and for themselves. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our journey for peace
begins today and every day.
Each step is a prayer,
Each step is a meditation,
Each step will build a bridge.
