Love means wishing others to be happy. Love is about what we give not what we get.
Practice doing something for someone each day with love alone. Do it without expecting anything in return. Do it without anyone knowing it. For example, you can pray for your friends or family members who live far away. You can send email, text, or a letter to someone whom you have not been in touch with for quite a while. Give compliments to other people. You can give a smile to a stranger passing by. You can pet your dog or cat. Do small things with great love each day. And watch your heart expand to more love.

From Jim Stenson, Life is full of special moments, open your eyes, open your mind and most of all, open your heart, you will see. I found this video online, I did not film it but I thought it was so special I had to put a song behind it. To me, the female Lab is trying so hard to befriend the child. The boy is cautious but curious at the same time. The person who filmed the original video contacted me in January 2013 She is the mom, her name is Ana, her sons name is Hernan, and the dogs name is Himalaya. Watch when the dog puts her paw on the boys shoulder as if to say, I love you, everything will be ok. If your heart doesn’t melt your not human. FYI: THE TEXT in the video was INSPIRED BY a beautiful little DS girl I met. She said to me “God didn’t make a mistake when he made me” and her daddy told her, she was a “Gift from God”.
Folk artist Yu Guangjun places “Maohou” figures onto a miniature display at his house in Beijing, September 2, 2014. “Maohou”, which means hairy monkey in Chinese, is a traditional art form in Beijing that dates back to the Qing Dynasty and requires only the use of cicada sloughs and Magnolia buds to form miniature sculptures. For a friend or family member, living with and watching someone suffering with Alzheimer’s disease is frequently heartbreaking. But sometimes, when all seems lost, something miraculous happens.
In a video that has gone viral, Georgia native Kelly Gunderson captured a precious and unpredictable moment while lying in a hospital beside her ailing mother. For a brief moment, the older woman was able to reflect and recognize her loving daughter.
At first, the 87-year-old mother appears to realize that she is next to her daughter in the bed. Gunderson inquires, “Do you think that I would lay here with just anybody?” Her mother, quite able to respond says, “No. I think you want to have to love them if they want to.” Gunderson follows up by asking her mother whether she knows who she is. And in an astounding instant, her mother happily replies that she does and responds, “Kelly.”
According to Alz.org, more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, which is a form of dementia that gets worse over time and affects memory, thinking, and behavior. One out of three senior citizens dies with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.
Even when all seems dark, there’s still a little light that shines, somewhere. Or at least it did for Kelly Gunderson and her beloved mother.
