1. This is the way things are

    Comment

Don’t worry about things too much, just think “this is the way things are.” This is your work, your duty. Right now nobody can help you, there’s nothing that your family and possessions can do for you. all that can help you now is clear awareness.

So don’t waver. Let go. Throw it all away.

Even if you don’t let go, everything is starting to leave you anyway. Can you see that, how all the different parts of your body are trying to slip away? Take your hair; when you were young it was thick and black. Now it’s falling out. It’s leaving. Your eyes used to be good and strong but now they’re weak, your sight is unclear. When your organs have had enough they leave, this isn’t their home. When you were a child your teeth were healthy and firm, now they’re wobbly, or you’ve got false ones. Your eyes, ears, nose, tongue — everything is trying to leave because this isn’t their home. You can’t make a permanent home in conditions, you can only stay for a short time and then you have to go. It’s like a tenant watching over his tiny little house with failing eyes. His teeth aren’t so good, his eyes aren’t so good, his body’s not so healthy, everything is leaving. ~Ajahn Chah

  2. Kitty playing with the toy

    Comment

Cats are experts at amusing themselves. It takes very little—a crumpled ball of paper, a pen left on a desktop or a newspaper spread open on the floor—to engage your cat in what, to her, is the most fascinating of games. Your cat’s imagination can turn almost anything into a wonderful toy that she’ll bat around or chase to her heart’s content. Typically, cats most enjoy playing with small, light objects that are “flickable,” such as a cork or a Ping-Pong ball, which they can swat and then chase. Cats also love empty paper bags to investigate and “hide” in. Remove the handles so your cat doesn’t get caught in them. He could be terrified if he’s chased by a big paper bag. Empty cardboard boxes are also popular with cats. Source: Humane Society

  3. Best friends having a good time

    Comment

Animals are like little angels sent to earth to teach us how to love.
They don’t get angry or play silly games. They are always there for us.

  4. Think by heart

    Comment

    Dreams + love = heart
    Realities + fights = mind
    Heart + mind = misunderstanding + mistrust
    Heart + heart = happiness
    Mind + mind = breakups
Think by heart even if it’s broken.

  5. Baby pug wants to go first

    Comment

Some say that the Pug is lazy and this is not really true. All dogs love to take naps. The Pug is such a fantastic pet because whether its owners are energize people or couch potatoes, they will fit in perfectly with the family. This breed most definitely loves to cuddle up on the couch to nap; however in the same day this dog may be found exploring around to satisfy its strong curiosity. Just like humans, the Pug may feel like lazing around or taking a short stroll. Because they tend to overheat quickly, they are not usually able to take long hikes without planned stops for shade, water, rest and treats.  With good weather conditions, a Pug can do a brisk 20 to 30 minute walk once or twice per day. 6. What touches your heart most?

    Comment

When your fear touches someones pain, it becomes pity,
when your love touches someones pain, it becomes compassion.

Think carefully: What touches your heart most?
Being hurt by someone you love a lot
Or being loved by someone you have hurt a lot.

  7. Love in my heart

    Comment

Can you count the stars in the sky?
Can you count the hair of a sheep?
Can you measure how many gallons
of water is in in the pool?
So how can you count the love
    in my heart for you…

  9. Your eyes have seen any number of forms and colors

    Comment

If your house is flooded or burnt to the ground, whatever the threat to it, let it concern only the house. If there’s a flood, don’t let it flood your mind. If there’s a fire, don’t let it burn your heart. Let it be merely the house, that which is outside of you, that is flooded or burned. Now is the time to allow the mind to let go of attachments.

You’ve been alive a long time now. Your eyes have seen any number of forms and colors, your ears have heard so many sounds, you’ve had any number of experiences. And that’s all they were — experiences. You’ve eaten delicious foods, and all those goods tastes were just good tastes, nothing more. The bad tastes were just bad tastes, that’s all. If the eye sees a beautiful form that’s all it is… a beautiful form. An ugly form is just an ugly form. The ear hears an entrancing, melodious sound and it’s nothing more than that. A grating, discordant sound is simply that. ~Ajahn Chah

  10. For Warmth

    Comment

I hold my face between my hands
    no I am not crying
I hold my face between my hands
    to keep my loneliness warm
    two hands protecting
    two hands nourishing
    two hands to prevent
    my soul from leaving me
    in anger

Shantidevas’ Bodhisattva vows

My reflection

Should anyone wish to ridicule me and make me an object of jest and scorn why should I possibly care if I have dedicated myself to others?

Let them do as they wish with me so long as it does not harm them. May no one who encounters me ever have an insignificant contact.

Regardless whether those whom I meet respond towards me with anger or faith, may the mere fact of our meeting contribute to the fulfilment of their wishes.

May the slander, harm and all forms of abuse that anyone should direct towards me act as a cause of their enlightenment.

As a solid rock is not shaken by the wind, so the wise are not shaken by blame and praise. As a deep lake is clear and calm, so the wise become tranquil after they listened to the truth…

Good people walk on regardless of what happens to them. Good people do not babble on about their desires. Whether touched by happiness or by sorrow, the wise never appear elated or depressed. ~The Dhammapada

Hermit of Tbeng Mountain

Sachjang Phnom Tbeng សច្ចំ ភ្នំត្បែង is a very long and interesting story written by Mr. Chhea Sokoan, read by Jendhamuni Sos. You can click on the links below to listen. Part 1 | Part 2

Beauty in nature

A beautiful object has no intrinsic quality that is good for the mind, nor an ugly object any intrinsic power to harm it. Beautiful and ugly are just projections of the mind. The ability to cause happiness or suffering is not a property of the outer object itself. For example, the sight of a particular individual can cause happiness to one person and suffering to another. It is the mind that attributes such qualities to the perceived object. — Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

Nature is loved by what is best in us. The sky, the mountain, the tree, the animal, give us a delight in and for themselves. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our journey for peace
begins today and every day.
Each step is a prayer,
Each step is a meditation,
Each step will build a bridge.
