1. The ability to deal with it

    A laughing face doesn’t mean that there is an absence of sorrow but it implies
    that there’s the ability to deal with it. ~Santabanta sms

    that you need. ~Santabanta sms

  3. Kittie and Parrot eating together

    Comment

    Cats directly walk on their toes. Of all animals, they have a unique skull that brings about large eye sockets and strong specialized jaw. In general, cats remain active during day and night. However, domestic cats are known to be rather more vigorous during evening and morning. While these cats spend a large amount of their time in homes, they can range several hundreds of meters from their focal point. Source: AnimalsTimes

  4. Pure friendship

    Comment

    Pure friendship is:
    Bright like sun;
    High like sky;
    Strong like diamond;
    Kind like mother;
    Cute like me;
    And Sweet like you.

    ~Santabanta sms

  5. Dog and Bone

    Comment

    Human faces are known to be asymmetrical, with people instinctively moving their gaze to the right side of a face when they meet someone and try to discern their emotional state. Dogs have developed the same instinct when encountering a human, despite the fact that they do not do this when meeting other dogs. No other non-primate is known to do this. Source: OneKind

  7. You are a child of the universe

    Comment

    Be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here. ~Max Ehrmanm, Desiderata

  8. The empty mind – the pure mind

    Comment

    The empty mind – the pure mind – is not a blank, zero-land, where you’re not feeling or caring
    about anything. It’s an effulgence of the mind. It’s a brightness that is truly sensitive and accepting.
    It’s an ability to accept life as it is. When we accept life as it is, we can respond appropriately
    to the way we’re experiencing it, rather than just reacting out of fear and aversion.

  9. We must not suffer over the suffering

    Comment

    “There will always be suffering. But we must not suffer over the suffering.” ~Alan Watts

    “
Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. And intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you’ll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.” ~ Janet Fitch

  10. For the awakening of the heart

    Comment

    Of course we can always imagine more perfect conditions, how it should be ideally,
    how everyone should behave. But it is not our task to create an ideal. It’s our task
    to see how it is, and to learn from the world as it is. For the awakening of the heart,
    conditions are always good enough. ~Ajahn Sumedho

Shantidevas’ Bodhisattva vows

My reflection

Should anyone wish to ridicule me and make me an object of jest and scorn why should I possibly care if I have dedicated myself to others?

Let them do as they wish with me so long as it does not harm them. May no one who encounters me ever have an insignificant contact.

Regardless whether those whom I meet respond towards me with anger or faith, may the mere fact of our meeting contribute to the fulfilment of their wishes.

May the slander, harm and all forms of abuse that anyone should direct towards me act as a cause of their enlightenment.

As a solid rock is not shaken by the wind, so the wise are not shaken by blame and praise. As a deep lake is clear and calm, so the wise become tranquil after they listened to the truth…

Good people walk on regardless of what happens to them. Good people do not babble on about their desires. Whether touched by happiness or by sorrow, the wise never appear elated or depressed. ~The Dhammapada

Beauty in nature

A beautiful object has no intrinsic quality that is good for the mind, nor an ugly object any intrinsic power to harm it. Beautiful and ugly are just projections of the mind. The ability to cause happiness or suffering is not a property of the outer object itself. For example, the sight of a particular individual can cause happiness to one person and suffering to another. It is the mind that attributes such qualities to the perceived object. — Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

Nature is loved by what is best in us. The sky, the mountain, the tree, the animal, give us a delight in and for themselves. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our journey for peace
begins today and every day.
Each step is a prayer,
Each step is a meditation,
Each step will build a bridge.
