Good deeds shine in heaven

In Buddhism, we do not need to pray to the angels to come help us or rescue us when we are facing troubles. Part of the angel’s job is to look after the good people. They look over those who master their words, their thoughts and those who never allow their body to do harm. The angels will come to help these people automatically without them having to say a prayer. Knowing this, we should continue to be kind, help those who need help, do good deeds without expectation… Jendhamuni

    "The kind of seed sown
will produce that kind of fruit.
Those who do good will reap good results.
Those who do evil will reap evil results.
If you carefully plant a good seed,
You will joyfully gather good fruit."

    The Four Noble Truths
    1. There is Suffering Suffering is common to all.
    2. Cause of Suffering We are the cause of our suffering.
    3. End of Suffering Stop doing what causes suffering.
    4. Path to end Suffering Everyone can be enlightened.

+Reg Dawn 1. Right View. The right way to think about life is to see the world through the eyes of the Buddha–with wisdom and compassion.

+bhagawati sharan I'm so glad you share the Fourth Noble Truths here. This is the ultimate teaching in Buddhism. The teaching that will lead us to nirvana.

+Jendhamuni Sos your introduction of Buddhism to me, is most interesting, and needed in my life, in order to make me a better person.  Seek and ye shall find…..I send you a heartfelt thank you.  Godspeed

+Ruthie STARK-REDMAN Thank you so much. Those who do good deeds and believe in their own karma never afraid of anything. They are very srong and courageous, even when death appears infront of them, they do not afraid, or beg death for mercy.

+Charles van Dijk you raise an interesting question, I would venture to guess, that there is a commonality regardless of religious preference, based on "How did you live your life prior to expiration?" Could this be the factor that determines your final destination?   Godspeed

+Jendhamuni Sos I am determined to get it right, and to share it with others as you are sharing.  I commend you for posting information that is good for the body, soul, and spirit.  It is the 'truth' that will set us free, and give us the ability to share said 'truth,' to set others free as well.  Godspeed

+Ruthie STARK-REDMAN goes down the wire in my case. Law of stimulus, response and consequence. I saw death twice in my life and now just curious, but not afraid. You can't change a thing by being afraid.

+Ruthie STARK-REDMAN I will try to simplify what I have learned in Buddhism and share it via my post in the near future. Thanks so much for the word of encourgement.

+Jendhamuni Sos we believe in infinite mercy, too many religions use scaremongering as a tactic. For me that's just a regression to paganism.

+Ruthie STARK-REDMAN Three of of Four Buddhist Masters I have are amazing. Very simple, down to earth, but wise men; they want nothing in life, but peace for others. Very hard to find on earth. I am very fortunate to have them as part of my life, who continue to guide me, although two of them have already departed from earth.

+Jendhamuni Sos , I lyk the way u av explained how the need 2 pray 4 divine intervention is unnecessary in Buddhism, I find Buddhism has a very sound msg, I can't find fault wit nething I av learnt regarding the subject, prayer has served me well in the past & th@ was the only thing th@ made me hesitant 2 fully embrace another blief system, but ur words answered th@ quest in a way I understand & can embrace, ur wrds make alot of sense, & I'm gr8ful 4 them, thanx again JS

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
