Freedom is the only condition for happiness

Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything – anger, anxiety, or possessions – we cannot be free. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

A raiva te envenena, ansiedade te faz doente, e quando for de encontro ao criador não levara nenhuma posse, a não ser o bem que fizestes!

+Alan Peto Buddhism I love Thich Nhat Hanh's teaching so much.  It's so easy for me to absorb. And I do like many others too. I truly agree with you on Buddhism. Meditation plays such a big role here.

Thank you +Alan Peto Buddhism I'll be done with the moving by the end of the week. Need to organize my books and dvds. My living room is full of buddhism books now, I had to skim through while I'm moving, that's why I'm so slow:)))

+Alan Peto Buddhism I love these books so much. His Holiness Maha Ghosananda gave me so many books sometimes before he passed a way. I can never get enough. I will spend a good amount of time reading them once I catch up a llittle!

It's very difficult for many of us to let go +Dave Lavis because we've been clinging to these things for so long, that we don't even realize they are the root cause of unhappiness.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
